How do I know when to Transfer Colleges TKG
How do I know when to Transfer Colleges Itâs not always easy to trust your gut when it comes to decisions about college. For some, intuition might suggest that youâre not at the right school. But for the rest of those students looking for validation that you might be better off elsewhere, weâve compiled a list of reasons for wanting to transfer. If you can check off five boxes or more, it might be time for you start looking into the transfer process. The school is too small or too big.Youâre the smartest person in the room (never a good sign in any situation). You have no desire to go out and meet new people. The major you want isnât offered.Youâre skipping class because ~nothing matters~.Youâre overly homesick. No matter how much you donât want to admit it, youâre going to be homesick at college. Itâs completely normal to get back to your dorm at the end of day and miss your parents. But if youâre so homesick that itâs taking away from your day to day and itâs something you think about constantly , youâre either at the wrong school or need go to a school thatâs closer to home. You donât like the people. Weâre not talking about the one annoying person that lives down the hall. We mean that you arenât meeting interesting people that are academically curious, challenge you, and introduce you to new ideas.Youâre effortlessly getting straight Aâs.Itâs going to take you more than 4 years to graduate because you have to create your own major. (If this is the case, you should start by looking into schools that offer your desired major).Youâre not inspired by conversations you have with peers outside of the classroom. You havenât found a group of friends. Making ~best~ friends isnât easy, but after a few months at school you should have met a few people that you can at least look forward to grabbing a meal with. The social scene isnât what you want it to be. Maybe youâre at a party school and canât get anything done in your dorm because people are up at all h ours, or maybe the scene is a little too lowkey. It goes both ways.Youâre not having fun.You look for any excuse to leave campus or go home on the weekends. This list doesnât cover everything, but itâs a good place to start. If youâre seriously considering transferring, you should make a list of what you donât like about your current school and another list of what youâre looking for. Transferring colleges isnât as easy as most people think, so be honest with yourself about your goals (academic and otherwise) and start by looking into colleges that have what you need.
